...and a new party was served to him. His former Democratic Party [ex social-democrat, stemming from the very first former-communists' National Salvation Front (haha! those long-gone 'post-revolutionary' Romanian politics) now belonging to the EPP] is going to fuse with the Liberal Democratic Party, a small party that Băsescu had managed to tear apart from the Liberal Party. Great ideological confusion, but no ideology is needed for populist political formations that go up and down in the polls with their 'charismatic' leaders.
Question: do all the 'charismatic,' populist leaders have to be badly-dressed, with terrible haircuts, of dubious sense of humor and terrible manners? Are all these necessary ingredients for 'charisma'?
